Method of Delivery

This class will be held online using GoToMeeting.  Class participants will receive a PDF of the book and will be able to access the class files online.

When you register, be sure to use the email that you would like your GoToMeeting invitation sent to.  The meeting invitation will be sent no later than 1 hour prior to the class. Check your junk mail if you do not receive an invitation, especially if you have a Gmail or Hotmail account.  You do not have to have a GoToMeeting subscription to participate.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This class is designed for the intermediate Excel user. We begin by learning relative references vs absolute references which is a critical skill necessary to move forward with more advanced formulas. We will learn decision making formulas such as IF statements and VLOOKUPS. This class focuses on everyday skills that most intermediate Excel users need.

ABSOLUTE REFERENCES AND NAMED RANGES

  • Work with Relative, Absolute and Mixed references
    • Use shortcuts like the F4 key when changing reference types
  • Use Formula Auditing Tools
    • Learn how to Trace Precedent and Dependent Formulas
    • Learn to Step through a Formula Using Evaluate Formula
  • Understand Order of Calculation and How to Use Evaluate Formula Auditing Tool
  • Create and use Named Ranges
    • Understand How Named Ranges are Absolute References
  • Work with Common Shortcuts

FORMATTING OPTIONS

  • Learn Comparison Operators
    • Greater Than and Less Than

  • Understand the Parts of a Function
  • Use Auto-Calculate
  • Learn the SUMIF Function
